Chris Byrley
Chris joined the FBC staff in August 2021 to serve as Associate Pastor, and has served as Lead Pastor since September 2023. Previously, he served in pastoral ministry in his hometown of Louisville, KY, as a worship pastor and Bible teacher. He earned a M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY in 2010, and a Th.M. and Ph.D. in New Testament Studies, also from Southern Seminary, in 2017. He was married to Whitney in 2009, and together they have three daughters: Caroline, Hollis, and Piper. Chris is passionate about discipleship and helping people to see God’s Word as beautiful and relevant for their everyday lives. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, podcasts and puzzles, cheers for Kentucky (UK not KU!) basketball/football, and aspires to master the art of cooking the perfect steak/ribs/BBQ.
